Our Safari Trip

In July 2009 we were fortunate enough to travel to Kenya for a safari. Our guides from Royal African Safaris showed us just how amazing, beautiful and unique Kenya is.

INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCES

On the fourth of July, we made our own fireworks, with a low and fast flight through the riverbed in the Samburu National Park. It was certainly one flight I won't ever forget!
During our visit to a manyatta near Ol Malo, I was invited to join the Samburu in a traditional courtship dance of the warriors and girls. I cannot begin to describe how grateful I am for the experience.
En route to Ol Malo Lodge in Kenya's Rift Valley, we flew past magnificent waterfalls before making a memorable crosswind landing at Oserangoni Airstrip. Be sure to watch the video until we deplane!
In the Massai Mara, one of our Samburu guides – Piggy – crafts a feather for my hat from a one he found and a thread from his blanket. He gave me the feather & christened me "Bwana".
It was a great honor to be invited to take part in the slaughter of the goat and to share the blood with the Samburu. Although I was hesitant about the idea earlier in the day, it was important for me to return the respect I was being shown and to honor the traditions of our hosts, who had become good friends.
Wildebeest Migration Without question, the migration of nearly two million wildebeest from the southern Serengeti of Tanzania to the Maasai Mara in Kenya is – without question – one of the most incredible natural events I've ever witnessed in my life.
