I need your help. College football starts in two days. The first Florida State game of the year is just 11 days away. I feel woefully unprepared. Heck, even Merrin went to get her toes all garnet & gold yesterday!

So… help me out. Check out this website and help me buy a new FSU hat for game day. I'm not partial to color (no pink), but I could go white, garnet, gold… whatever. (PS - I'm not terribly fond of camo, either, but it was the first image that popped up in the rotation. Who knows. Maybe camo is my look.)

With college football season just eight days away and the first dropping of the spear in just 16 days, it's time to look back at the greatest fourth quarter in college football history.

I remember sitting there for three quarters and thinking… when are we going to start playing. The answer came in the fourth quarter in what became known as "The Choke at Doak".

Brings a tear to the eye, doesn't it? CAN.NOT.WAIT.

A buddy of mine met up with FSU Coach Bobby Bowden at a golf event last week and the two of them put together a care package for me. I opened it today and was floored! There was a note, a signed picture from Coach Bowden, and a signed golf towel. Awesome!

Orson & I have organized The Charity Bowl this week to raise money for the American Red Cross to help for devastating cyclone in Myanmar, the tornadoes in Oklahoma, Missouri and the Midwest, storms in the Southeast, wildfires in California & Florida, and earthquakes in China, not to mention the everyday needs in our own communities.

We're organizing donations by school… so go show your support!

Update: I'm proud to say that we raised over $3,000 today. There are two more days left… maybe we can get that to $10K?!

Update: Wow. I don't even have the words…. We've raised over $10,000 in donations in two days. The Charity Bowl wraps tomorrow with a big twist!

Looks like "I must be in the front row!" for some FSU home games… my baby got me season tickets!

College bowl season finally kicks off tonight with the epic Navy - Utah game. (OK, so they can't all be homeruns, but… I've waited so long!)

Florida State has scheduled a Monday morning press conference to announce that 'Noles Offensive Coordinator Jimbo Fisher will be named the successor to Head Coach Bobby Bowden.

Bowden will continue at the helm for FSU until he elects to retire, and then Jimbo will be named the new Head Coach.

I think everyone is tempted to do a little reading between the lines here and that's understandable. Bowden essentially has a lifetime contract at FSU, but will likely coach for only another year or two. Naming Jimbo as the future king gives the Seminoles a big advantage with players, fans and recruits.

I can't even begin to tell you how glad I am that things are working out this way. We get several more great years with Bowden and while our next coach is already at work building the future.

Just got a call from the county tax office that my license plate request has processed. I'm not terribly excited about pulling the Texas plates off, but… at least I got something I like! Go Noles!

Yes, I've updated the colors on my blog. Why? Because it's hate week, of course.

FSU has released it's 2007 schedule posters, featuring Coach Bowden and the new coaching staff, as well as XL & Drew Weatherford.

I'm actually going to make it to a home game this year in Tallahassee. My brother and I have tickets to the FSU-NCSU game on October 6th.

CAN NOT WAIT.
