The only prescription is more island

Morning on the High Rocks

I knew I shouldn't do it… but I did it anyway. I started listening to my beach music iMix yesterday and — sure enough — I know have a bad case of island fever.

I thought, "Well, I'll just re-do my blog header and that will do." Nope – no cure at all. And I should know better – I do this to myself around this time every year.

I've got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell island. After all, I am solar powered.

So… even though we are locked and loaded to head out this spring (well, all except the part where we pick some dates), don't be surprised if you see me hang a "gone out island" sign around this place in the next few weeks.

If anyone is out in Texas freezing their baguettes off, well – you're welcome to join me.

In the meantime, I'll be the guy looking for seashells out in the yard, drinking Kalik and listening to Buffett, Chesney, and Jerry Jeff.

  1. You know we want to join you! I even put up our shadowbox of shells we got on our last trip in the bathroom Friday, along with a little photo of the beach. The bathroom is going to be my far-from-Guana-get-away. I really hope we get to go this year.

  2. @Merrin – Just think how much worse it's going to be once I really get overcome by island fever. I think I am just starting to come down with it. I should be full-blown!!!

    @Camille – Good thing Merrin hasn't done the same in our house, otherwise I would be spending LOTS OF TIME IN THE BATHROOM. Umm… I mean… well, you know what I mean.

    @Rob – Thanks, bro. I needed that. 🙂

    @nf0 – I should have known. There have been land shark sightings down there for the last couple of weeks!

  3. I understand. For us, the end of the holiday season means we're only eight months away from going back to Hawaii – and a month away from getting our plane tickets. 🙂
