Google Reader still missing "Google" feature

by Kevin Donahue on October 27, 2006

I'm nearly three weeks into my Google Reader trial, having given up NetNewsWire. (More here & here). Long story short: Google Reader is outstanding. Start using it now. Do not pass go. Etc, etc.

Google has been making regular improvements, but – the one flaw of Google Reader remains – you cannot search your current or past feed items. How does a search company not offer search?! It's a tragedy, I tell ya.

I started using it when I read about it in your blog. I love it, too.

You can use Greasemonkey and Google reader search to do it.

GOOD Point, Jair. I may have to do that. Hadn't thought about getting a script to do it.

But… shouldn't it be native? I mean – it's freakin' Google. Google Reader should have search, period. Right?
