I'll take a Pepsi Starbucks
Did you know that Pepsi makes the bottled Starbucks drinks? Yep.
Through the more than 10-year, highly successful joint-venture partnership, the North American Coffee Partnership introduced bottled Starbucks Frappuccino(R) coffee drinks in 1996 and later, Starbucks DoubleShot(R) espresso drink in 2002. To date, these Starbucks coffee innovations remain the No. 1 products in their respective segments of the ready-to-drink coffee category in the United States. Additionally, in early 2006, the partnership introduced a new line of Starbucks(R) Iced Coffee drinks in both regular and light, a light version of Starbucks DoubleShot espresso drink and the first coffee-free bottled Starbucks Frappuccino creme beverage, Strawberries and Creme.

Saving money isn't hard - it's easy
One of the things Merrin & I set out today this past year was to bump up our savings accounts. We made some changes in our budget and -poof- we're able to save. Awesome, right? Right.
But savings accounts at the bank SUCK. I mean absolutely SUCK. Earning 1.00% - 2.00%?? SUCK.
And then we found ING Direct. They had savings accounts with no minimums and awesome rates. How awesome? The current rate on a standard, no-frills, FDIC insured savings account is 4.35%. You give them some money, they give you your money, plus some more. Good deal, I'd say.
But that deal can be even sweeter………
I have a few referrals that will feather your next egg with a free $25.00 if you're depositing $250 or more. That's a guaranteed 10% right up front. And, since I'm your good buddy ol' pal, I rake in a $10 bonus. To get the free $25, you have to have a referral code, so email me or comment if you're interested.
So… what are you waiting for?? (This is the part where you go email me or comment asking for the referral.)

And away they go
Well, it's official: Josh & Camille are trading in their high-speed internet for a party-line rotary phone. (OK, maybe that's a slight exaggeration.)
After a couple years in the Mound, they are saying goodbye to the 'burbs and moving back "home" to east Texas.
I think I've run the gamut of emotions since they first began toying with the idea a few months back:
SHOCK: What?! WHAT?! WTF?!
DENIAL: Y'all are not moving. Uh-uh. No way. Forget it.
ANGER: Moving?! Oh no you didn't!! I won't be coming to visit.
GUILT: If only we had gotten a party line phone….![]()
SADNESS: Man, things are going to be so different. This sucks.
ACCEPTANCE: Well, I guess we better throw a couple briskets on the pit, ice down a couple cases of beer, and have a couple blowout Saturday nights!
I'm happy for Josh, Camille, & G. They are going to have everything they have always wanted - a great farm back home surrounded by their family. Sure, I'm a little bummed, but how often do you get to see your best friends grab their dream??
And, since they'll only be a few hours away, I know we'll be seeing them soon. And we'll always have Guana.
And, I'm sure they will be able to get dial-up in a few years. ![]()

It's getting hot in here
Make it ten strait days of 100+ weather here in DFW. They say it's going to "cool down" into the high 90s by the weekend. Ummm….yay?!?
I know our AC is having trouble keeping up, even though we had it serviced recently. It's just that hot.
I guess I should be grateful for what we've got. I'll probably be complaining this winter when we can't get our eggs to cook on the sidewalk again.
