D Magazine going after blogger

D Magazine is going after a blog for using the name FrontBurner, which it trademarked for its own joke of a blog.

I can't imagine anyone would ever confuse D's mindless drivel with something… I don't know… interesting, so…where's the harm?

A scientist after my own heart

Finally there are scientists in the world that are tackling real problems, like how to make bacon good for you. :-)

You want me to swallow what?

Question: Why is it when you're fighting off strep throat they give you the biggest honking pill they make?

From my closet straight to your home

If you love kids and digital cameras, but cringe at the thought of your kids handling your camera…have I got a deal for you. :-)
I'm selling my Canon PowerShot A10 (unbiased review here), which is actually a great little digital camera. It's easy to use, takes decent pictures, and uses four AA batteries - so you never have to worry about finding replacement batteries when you're on vacation!!

Anyway, if you're looking for a decent point & shoot camera, check out my Canon PowerShot A10 on eBay.

HOW TO: Disable OS X Dashboard

I rarely use Dashboard in OS X, so I hunted around to find out how to turn the Dashboard off in OSX:

To turn Dashboard off:
# defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean YES

To turn Dashboard on:
# defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean NO

You have to restart the Dock after making either change for it to take effect:
# killall Dock

I can't feel my face

"I can't feel my face… I mean, I can touch it, but I can't feel it inside… " - Blow

I've been fighting off a tickle in my throat for a few days - lots of water, vitamins, and Airborne. It caught up with me last night and I made a 6am run to Walgreens this morning. Yuck.
