Best decision ever?
I'm so proud of my wife. Over the past two weeks, she has done such an amazing job at running this family. It has been the biggest load off my shoulders at a time when I really needed it.
The last two weeks have been a real renaissance for us. The stress level in our house has dropped to almost nothing. We've both tried to leave work at the front door over the years, but you know how that works. But over the last couple weeks, we've actually had time to talk to one another rather than just talk around each other or lament about work stresses.

I saved 1.6GB by getting rid of the language support I didn't need. Let's be honest - I really don't need Nordic language support across the platform.

BoingBoing fighting global censorship
BoingBoing is fighting back against Secure Computing (and several Arab countries) for blacklisting the popular site with a new guide to defeating Secure Computing's SmartFilter. I think BB's in the right on this one.

Too sexy for your boots
Question: Are Josh's boots just that sexy, or do all boots have such a loyal ED spam following?

What is Fanblogs up to?
I'm getting a lot of emails regarding Fanblogs right now. Its been an an unusually slow off-season at Fanblogs and people are curious if perhaps the nation's best college football blog is waning.
The answer? Not a chance, brother. The truth is that there's a lot going on at Fanblogs. The site is going through some HUGE changes right now - many of which will be announced/unveiled soon. Fanblogs is a great college football brand and I'm proud to see it going to the next level.
In the meantime, hold on (and hold on tight!) because the good stuff is just around the corner.

30 Boxes might rock
I'm pretty enamored with the potential of 30 Boxes, a shared web calendar - kind of like Flickr for your calendar. I particularly like how easy it is to add events, import your calendar and add buddies. You can even send appointments to other users (ex: wanna watch the game?). Of course, there are loads of RSS feeds that you can generate and a ton of integration areas, too, like incorporating MySpace, Flickr, etc. I like that.
The best part? I instantly understood how to use it. I mean - no looking up help, no nothing. Just log on and off you go. It certainly has the potential to be very, very cool. Anyway, I'm going to give it a go for a while.
For those that are already signed up and want to "buddy" me:

Want to save $150? Upgrade your internet
After drooling over looking into Verizon FIOS service for the better part of a year, I'm glad to say we're finally going for it. After reading through all the reviews in Flower Mound, it just seemed like a no-brainer.
The kicker? We're going from 4MB speed to 15MB and we're going to save at least $12/month. More speed and more money? Yahootie!
Bye, bye Comcast. Hello, FIOS!!

Wow! Its like a whole new house!
How good does the house look since Merrin painted dang near the entire thing? AWESOME!! It's like a whole new house!
We now have new paint from the front door through the foyer, front hallway, living room, dining room, and all the way to the master bedroom. And while I think she is SERIOUSLY high on paint fumes, she's talking about knocking out the guest bedrooms, too!
I'll try to get some pictures posted before/after style, but…damn! Looks GREAT!!!!!
