David Aguilar, the head of the U.S. Border Patrol, told Congress that 919,000 illegal immigrants have been apprehended on the Mexican border so far this year, of whom 119,000 were non-Mexicans (OTM). The 119,000 non-Mexican captures is up 175% over last year.
Why? Homeland Security says it's because the Border Patrol has a 'catch & release' program. When a non-Mexican is caught crossing the border, they are given a ticket and told to appear in court. Did you catch that? If you're caught sneaking into the country, you get a ticket and you're released – not in Mexico, in the US. 85% of those ticketed never make their court appearance. Ya don't say?!
We have a massive border problem. The folks in Washington better start fixing it or we need to start looking for someone who will.
