Yes, do that. Do exactly that.

Since I'm now an iPod owner (yes, I'm joining the 2000s, I suppose), I realized that my Mac iTunes is severely lacking in album art. So I thought to myself - OK, I need something to run through all these songs & download the correct album art, if only I could separate the songs that did/didn't have album art.

Hmm…search & import album art in iTunes for OS X…..

Luckily for me, Ed @ Blogoholic had just the same thought. He's got all the links to all the scripts.

Now my shiny little iPod photo is blinging with album art!

#150

OK, remember the other day when Fanblogs traffic pushed us up to the number #228 blog spot on TTLB? Well, now we're up to #150. I'm not sure we can maintain that pace - but it's really interesting to think that Fanblogs is now the 150th most trafficked blog.

Wishlist

Wouldn't be cool if Apple made an iPod photo with integrated bluetooth? I'd use that all the time in the car for GPS & tunes.

(Josh is going to tell me that I should get a Dell Axim or something with GPS module, right?)

2005 Top College Party Schools

Nice to see that Florida State is starting out the year right - ranked #2 in the Top College Party Schools list. Dave & schmed are right though - I have no idea how you leave out LSU.

Gameday

So I have designs on trying to make it to a couple of college football games this season. Being this far from Tallahassee, I'm probably not going to make any home games for my Seminoles, but I might be able to make their bowl game. (Hopefully the Rose Bowl for the National Championship, but I digress.)

I'm definitely going to make a trip to Kyle Field for a Texas A&M game. I would really like to go to Death Valley to see an LSU game. I'm looking into seeing an Oklahoma game, since that's just a couple hours away.

Who knows? Maybe I'll get one of those RVs and just tour the country in search of football and chemical toilet stations, right, Warren?

Speaking of Warren, the WSJ himself is coming to Dallas in August for a book signing. Hopefully our schedules will line up and we'll get a beer. You Austin folks can break you off a little RJYH in August as well. More details soon.

Top 250

Well, looks like our college football blog is now in the TTLB Top 250 - #228 today - not too shabby for the off season. I think we'll be in the top 100 come the football season.

Google, MSN, AOL et al

Google, Microsoft Start, and AOL all have AJAX based web readers now. That's a good thing. Because I like to synchronise my feeds at home/away, I prefer web readers. My favorite is still NewsGator Online and I will *never* go back to using Bloglines, as it greatly offends my delicate eyes. (Seriously, it's that ugly.)

These new tools are a good start, but I need more before I'll switch:

- to display integrated feed lists (all my feeds) in ascending/descending order

- to display my feeds in an attractive manner (Safari style would be nice)

- to remember my read/unread items

Of the three AOL comes the closest to what I'm looking for, but it's lacking an elegant, combined display of all my feeds. I understand that it's not exactly the sole intent of these services, but that's what I want (and I bet I'm not alone.)

Somebody (Scoble?) get that tweaked out and I'll trash NewsGator.

Texas meets the Atlantic

Texas meets the Atlantic,
originally uploaded by kevindonahue.

I'm starting to upload my "Josh as Ahab" series on Flickr. These were taken during our trip to Guana in May.

We did a lot of fishing down there, but no one enjoyed it as much as Josh. We would say, the tide's coming in. He didn't budge. Dinner's ready, Josh. No response. The boy was in fishing heaven.

I think the Atlantic won on this day, but Josh didn't go down without a fight.

MT Help needed

I need some MovableType help with MT 3.15. Here's my problem on another blog:

Using dynamic publishing and it's been working well for quite some time; however, I've just recently run into a problem. If I post into a top level category as the primary category, the indivudual archive for that page isn't created. If I the primary category is a subcategory, it works great - even if the top level category is an "additional category". The entries show up in the index and category archive, they just aren't available if you want to click on that entry.

Ex:
Post to DOGS = 404 error for archive page
Post to DOGS>YELLOW = works great

If I build the 3000+ entries as static, it works great. Thoughts?
