You're driving me crazy!!!!!
Man. I need a release. Work is making me crazy because…well, it's quarterly bonus time and I'm a greedy hog so I'm busting my @ss to get everything I can get contracted.
Hopefully we can all go to the fair this weekend and I can let off some steam with a couple cold beers, a few good friends, and half a dozen corny dogs.
((Please, Kamiel, please, please can we go?! Please?!))

I raise my cookie to you!
Happy Birthday, Christine! I'm raising a cookie (and subsequently dunking it in milk!) in your honor today!

It's "officially" fall
Well, it's officially fall. I guess that means it's time to kick in the "fall" redesign. Summer of blues, greens, and yellows is now replaced with reds and subtle fall colors.
Eh. Whatever. I'm hanging up the summer Hawaiian shirt look for the fall Hawaiian shirt look.

Wardrobe Assistance Needed
I'll be honest: I really don't spend too much time focusing on my wardrobe throughout the year. That being said, it's really time that I started. I've got seven good wool-blend work suits, but a couple them need to be retired. I'm also in need of a couple dress shirts and some great new ties. It may not sound glamorous to you, but I need a couple gift cards.

Understanding Red & Blue Politics
With all the talk about red states and blue states in this year's election coverage, it's hard to remember which is which. Red states tend to vote Republican (ie Texas) and blue states tend to vote Democrat (ie California). Here's somewhat humorous but accurate rundown of what life is like in each .
In blue state meetings everyone seems to curse, while in red state meetings people say "friggin'." Blue state businesspeople are profligate smudgers of the work-life boundary, while in my experience red staters are much more protective of their family time. Blue staters tend to be provocative — they pride themselves on shaking up a meeting by saying something outrageous, while red staters are more respectful of hierarchy and tradition.
Put another way - Bush once said: "To you, it's sushi. To me, it's bait."

New Version of Sauce Reader Available
Synop has updated Sauce Reader to version 1.8. Let me just again say how in love I am with this newsreader. New features in the release include the ability to monitor a webpage for changes and download it for offline browsing. This is awesome for those folks who just won't publish a feed. Go Download the new release!

Lost
OK, so did anyone else catch the pilot episode of ABC's Lost? About 20 minutes in, I said to Merrin that this may be one of the best shows on television. After watching the rest of the pilot, I don't know what I think of it. It is either going to be fantastic, or (as Merrin said) it may be the first show ever to go from greatness to jumping the shark in 48 minutes flat.
All I can say right now is…Wow! I'll definitely catch the next episode.

Adios!
We have to say farewell to an American institution. The last Chi Chi's Mexican Restaurant has closed its doors. Yes, the first place I ever enjoyed the greatness of the Crispy Beef Taco Dinner is no more. Damn.

Why was Cat Stevens on a watch list?
It seems really wierd that Cat Stevens would be on a terrorist watch list, doesn't it? Nope, not when you know all the details.
It's alleged he gave thousands to the militant Palestinian group Hamas, and to the son of blind cleric Omar Abdel Rachman who was believed to have masterminded the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Yusuf Islam denies giving money to terrorists, and claims he thought he was donating to the poor.
Islam is on a "do not admit" list meaning he's not allowed to enter the U.S.
One more quick question, this one for ABC: Does being convicted for the bombing of the WTC lend any creedance to the belief that Omar Abdel Rachman was involved? Can we cut to the chase & just skip over the whole 'believed' angle when someone has been convicted?

Currently thinking: Why doesn't Matt Fanblog?
If only Fanblogs could find one more strong Big 10 guy….. Oh well, Matt would never go for it. Besides, I doubt he even likes football.

Local Fox station greets Rather @ D/FW
Dallas Fox affiliate KDFW was tipped by bloggers and ready at D/FW baggage claim with cameras rolling when CBS "news" anchor Dan Rather de-planed.
KDFW's James Rose: Do you feel like you were duped at all?
Dan Rather: I'm very glad to see you. Do you feel like you were duped at all by the way? Working for Fox as you do — do you feel that way?
CBS looks like they could announce a mea culpa of some form today. Until Rather backs down from this story, he's going to get hit like this everywhere he goes, I suspect.

A sign of things to come?
For those of you that are following the election, it looks like Bush is putting together a big lead in advance of the debates. Whether that kind of lead holds or not will be interesting to watch, but it certainly hasn't been a good last month for Kerry.
