Speak & write gooder

I'm guilty of my share of mispronunciations ("Antartic", "dialate", "Febyuary", "'erb", "often") and several others that arent' on this list. I think it's a bit of my Southern/Texas living. One I certainly miss a lot is "vetran" and more recently I'm back to throwing the occassional "r" in my "wash". Anyway….

  1. I look up words all the time on m-w.com since you can listen to the word there. I frequently look things up just to hear how the dictionary says it. Like ROUTE is actually in their twice, both ways that I've heard it.

  2. The one that really bugs me is George W. Bush saying nuclear- he says nucular… No wonder he couldn't find them, he can't even pronounce them!!!
