Hanging with the Coopers

by Kevin Donahue on January 10, 2004

Josh & Camille got their house inspected yesterday afternoon. I'm not sure if you get like a USDA score on it or what, but they seemed pleased with the results. I suppose the "Move to the Mound" is still on schedule as planned.

Merrin and I were like little school kids yesterday during their inspection. We would take turns going to the window every…oh, five minutes or so…and looking through the cracks in the blinds to see if we could tell what was happening. I was tempted to bust out the telescope and check it out big time, but I'm glad that I didn't (sorry – story not blog approved). Suffice to say that the telescope will never be pointed anywhere near the Cooper's house.

Later, we hit one of the locally-owned restaurants. The name escapes me right now, but it's an Italian joint that specilizes in pizzas cooked in a wood-burning oven. Merrin & I both got a basil, olive oil, tomato pizzas that were exceptional. Josh got one with a bunch of stuff on it that looked pretty good. Camille and the baby had a BLT pizza. I had never seen such a thing before, but I'm told that it looks & tastes just like a BLT. Cool! Beer was poured and desserts were consumed. Very good dinner.

I still can't explain the teeny-bopper reaction Merrin & I are having to Josh & Camille moving in. I think we're more excited than they are!

Getting neighbors that you already know and are friends with is pretty cool. I wish my friends lived closer.

We're excited too! I just can't wait. The closing date seems so far away, yet so close too. We purchased packing supplies today, so we'll get started on that first thing tomorrow using Merrin's color coding system and our "5 New Colors" in our Sharpie pack!

Ooooohhhhh, Sharpies!

That's a little too much Martha Stewartness for me, but if it works for you…=)

Do not mock the color-coding moving system. It is fool-proof. In the words of Martha: It's a good thing. ;)

You guys are excited because it's fuuuuuuuuun!

You're adults and are supposed to act with decorum, but hell, it's fuuuuuuuuuuuun!

Gdamit! Live it up! Have fuuuuuuuuuuun with your neighbors! Life is short to wonder where the "giddy" comes from!

Live Giddy and with FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!*:)

Hehe. We're kinda in the same boat. We'll be moving within 3 blocks of two couples we like to hang out with. It'll be nice to be close for impromptu dinners and such. Thanks for leaving out the part with the telescope :)
