Beat the summer heat!

I have no idea why this is in the newspaper today, but I am grateful. I luvz me some sangria! Kudos to Wayne Lee Gay for an excellent recipe!

Sangria with a Kick
Pour a 750 milliliter bottle of good red table wine into a container; add two sticks of cinnamon, six cloves, 3 ounces of brandy (regular, peach, or –ummm– blackberry), 3 ounces of triple sec, one slice orange, one slice lemon, and the juice of one lime. Refrigerate for several hours to chill and join flavors. To serve, add about 24 ounces of club soda – give or take according to taste – and ice cubes, in an attractive pitcher.

Weeeee! Sangria!
