This should keep you busy
Brian and Courtney get here tomorrow. That means it's time to relax, unwind, and take turns carrying the drunkest of us to the bathroom. (!FUN!) While we recover, check out the greatness of Maxim and theirHot 99 Websites!

North Pole moving out of Canada - maybe you should too?
CNN reports that the magnetic North Pole is moving out of Canada for greener pastures in Alaska and, eventually, Siberia. How will this impact Canada's perpetual inferiority complex? My guess: more curling.

I did and you didnt!
I met Rusty Wallace today. You didn't. Working at a resort next to Texas Motor Speedway has its advantages!
Add him to my list! So far this year, that's Howie Long and Rusty.

Damn the storms!
I love the rain! I love thunderstorms! Except when it knocks out the power at 4:00 in the morning. Then, while Merrin sleeps, I have to rummage around the house, find the flashlights, find the old analog alarm clock, find my watch, find my glasses, set the clock, set the alarm, and then try to go back to sleep. GRRR!!!!

Someone help me!
I've had a lot of trouble sleeping over the past few nights. Merrin says I am worked up about B & C are going to be here this week. OK. Maybe that's part of it. I mean, I am looking forward to seeing them again. But there's something else - I can't put my finger on it.
OK, here's the really wierd part: I wake up 5-6 times a night with Billy Joel's "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant" running through my head. All of it - fast verses and slow. It's so damn odd. Ideas??

Just Five More Days!
Brian & Courtney will be here in just five more days! Their plane gets in at about 4:30pm on Friday. Margaritas are scheduled for 4:35pm, so let's try to be on time, people! ![]()
Merrin and I were inspired to do lots of little improvements around the house to impress B & C, but we decided that they wouldn't notice, so…. We did some small updates around Chez Kev though. I mastered the art of plumbing (yet again) and installed a new sink in the guest bath. Now all the appointments (towel rack, robe hook, tp dispenser, etc) all match in brushed nickel splendor. And yes, the faucet works. Well, the hot water works. The cold water line is stripped and the input and was previously rigged together with ungodly amounts of putty on a compression nut. I gotta figure out how to manage that. I expect we'll have hot & cold running water in the guest bathroom this weekend, though. (( praying )) Hopefully, there's an easy fix.
I am working today @ the hotel (yes, on a Sunday). One of the operations managers left the property and his replacement doesn't transfer in for a few weeks. So, our sales managers are pulling double duty and working Manager on Duty shifts. Hopefully, this means that our operation managers will soon be doing double duty and doing extra sales calls for all of us! HA!

Friday Five
Questions courtesy of Friday Five:
1. What's your favorite animal?
No animal is greater than the good puppy dog. Giraffes are nice, tigers are interesting, dolphins are awfully clever, but nothing compares to the good puppy dog.
2. What pets have you had in your lifetime?
I've had 5 good puppy dogs. Louie, Max, Abby, Rigley, and Chloe. We've also owned some fish, but fish are more like room decor than pets.
3. Is there any specific pet that you've wanted but never had? Why?
I wanted have a pet tiger when I was little. Then I found out that the only people who own pet tigers generally cage them up next to their trailer, just past the camaro up on blocks. Oh yeah, and Sigfreid and Roy.
4. Are you allergic to any animals?
I'm allergic to cats. They make me want to run them over with a lawn mower.
5. Do you have any 'pet' pet peeves (your pets or others')?
Bad pet owners. You know, the folks that leave the good puppy dog outside in two feet of snow?! I hate those folks. Also, people who leave good puppy dogs out in the rain with no shelter. Our old neighbors used to have a good puppy dog that they didn't take care of. It would go for days without food or water (unless we fed it). The good puppy dog would carry his stainless steel food bowl around the yard and bang it on the brick wall of their house until they came out and fed it. I guess they got tired of all the banging, because that good puppy dog eventually got a new home.

Weiner Dog survives attack by Bald Eagle
I guess even Bald Eagles think hot dogs are good snacks now and then. Thankfully, the good little puppy dog is OK.

College kids spreading it at Spring Break
A big epidemic is sweeping through college spring breaks this year. Students are passing it to one another and it's infecting college after college. Although students have been warned about risky behaviors, it seems that warnings are just not enough. So, if you're heading to one of the popular Spring Break destinations - be on the lookout or you can wind up with…pink eye!

Sad news from America's top zoo
We were all really sad to hear that Babe's calf was stillborn at the Fort Worth Zoo today. The whole town had been talking about the birth and anxiously awaiting the new calf. The Fort Worth Zoo has done a great job in breeding elephants, with Bluebonnet born in 1998. The latest news says that the zoo will try to breed Babe again in a year or so. But with only 3 or 4 baby Asian elephants born in captivity each year, it may be a while before another calf is born at the zoo. ![]()

OK, I might be struggling with addiction
Can I tell you how hooked I am on Amazing Race 2? I think I watched 4 seconds of last years. Maybe I didn't watch it from the beginning last year or something, but it is so good this year! If you haven't watched it yet, please pencil in some TIVO time for Amazing Race 2!
