About
"I've got a Caribbean soul I can barely control and some Texas hidden here in my heart." – Migration by Jimmy Buffett
A few years ago, I attempted to sum up an "about me" in a twitter-esque 140 characters or less. The best I could come up with at the time was:
…a taco aficionado with a caribbean soul and penchant for college football.
In doing so, I discovered three things:
1. That phrase was only 77 characters, so… "yea me!" for getting it under 140
2. It rolls of the toungue fairly easily, but still only touches the perimeter
3. Any time I talk I about tacos… I get hungry!
So, allow me to elaborate (a little)….
I'm a 30-something living close (but not close enough!) to the beach in Florida. I'm married to my best friend and the love of my life – a smart, beautiful, sexy Texan who tolerates my juvenile sense of humor and can out-cook the chef's I've worked with over the years.
I love spending time with my wife & three dogs, traveling to places where I can truly immerse myself, talking about college football, and trying out all kinds of gadgets & technology. And… the whole tacos thing. I really *love* tacos and great Tex-Mex cuisine.
Geek? Yeah… guilty as charged, I suppose. I've been "using" since the Atari 400 and online since 300 baud modems. I've publishing a blog of some sorts since <blink> was cool back in the mid-1990s. (Don't laugh – you know the first time you saw a <blink> tag it rocked your world!)
Today, I blog about those things that excite me – technology, travel, touchdowns, and tacos… mostly sans <blink> tag
In 2003, I combined my passions for college football & technology and built the first college football blog as a hobby, with the help & advice of an internet friend, Pete Holiday. We sold the site to the 800lb gorilla of college football websites in early 2006.
I blew all my dot-com scratch on tacos.
